Accessibility Statement

We are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including people with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA and to meet the requirements of the European Accessibility Act (EAA), effective from 28 June 2025.

Scope of Compliance

This statement applies to the core website www.portmageewhiskey.com and its content published or updated after 1 December, 2025. All new content is created with accessibility in mind and is tested against WCAG 2.2 AA criteria.

  • Clear page structure: consistent headings/landmarks and logical reading order to support screen readers.

  • Text alternatives: meaningful alt text added for informative images; decorative images treated appropriately.

  • Keyboard access: primary navigation and interactive elements designed to work with keyboard-only use.

  • Skip link: “Skip to Content” included to let users bypass repeated navigation.

  • Visible focus & focus order: focus states are clearly visible and follow a predictable order.

  • Readable content: layouts support zoom/reflow and readable text sizing across devices.

  • Colour/contrast checks: key UI text and controls chosen to meet AA contrast targets where applicable.

  • Links & controls: descriptive link text and consistent button labelling to reduce ambiguity for assistive tech users.

  • Forms: form inputs use clear labels/instructions and support accessible error handling where applicable.

  • Avoided flashing or flickering content to reduce seizure risk

  • Semantic HTML used for intended purposes to improve compatibility with assistive technologies

  • ARIA landmarks used where appropriate to help identify regions such as navigation main content and footer

  • Site performance optimisations applied to reduce delays that can negatively impact usability

  • Testing approach: accessibility checked using a mix of automated scans, manual checks, and assistive-technology spot testing.

Known Limitations or Exceptions

  • Our third-party booking engine, FareHarbor, has been configured and where possible coded and edited to support accessibility and WCAG 2.2 AA compliance however as a third-party platform some parts may not fully meet accessibility requirements and may have limitations; if you need to book outside of the Fareharbor booking engine, then please contact us and we can assist.
